Swimwear For Men

Men are notoriously bad at making fashion choices. When it comes to swimwear, this tendency for bad decisions seems to ratchet up a few notches. There are a number of different options when it comes to this essential piece of clothing, but essentially they are the same. Swimwear for men is designed to keep the body clothed and protected in the leisure of a water setting. Whether the man actually plans on getting in the water plays no part in choosing the right type of swimwear.

The first option that is open to men is the Speedo. However, whether or not this is a true option is up for debate. If a man is overweight, then he should not wear a Speedo. If a man is underweight, then he should not wear a Speedo. If he is a nice weight with a good physique, the answer is still pretty negative. A man that is considering wearing a Speedo should ask himself a few questions. Am I a bodybuilder? Would I like to see other men similar to myself wearing a Speedo? Am I confident in my specific assets to wear a Speedo in the company of women? If the answer to at least two of these questions is yes, then a Speedo can be worn – but only with caution.

The second and most common type of swimwear for men is swim trunks. These shorts are generally longer and are often quite baggy. They are usually designed with a floral or other type of print that should somehow imply the presence of water. These can be a great option for someone who is simply lounging around water, but they also have some disadvantages. For one, once they become wet, they are very heavy and may need some time to dry. However, there are versions that have a special coating to make them dry quicker. The main problem is that they can seem a bit juvenile. A man hanging out on a beach may find that wearing bright green surfer trunks may not be sending the right message to scantily clad women in bikinis.

The best option for most guys when it comes to swimwear is the tailored trunk. These swim trunks are usually slightly shorter than a pair of typical swim trunks and are not nearly as baggy. Instead of bright colors and patterns, most versions of the tailored trunk will be of a darker color with no more decoration than a stripe or two. Also, the material is usually a bit lighter than swim trunks, meaning that they dry much easier and are more comfortable for lounging about.

Swimwear options are increasing and men will be surprised when they search for a new pair of trunks. However, these options are not all created equally and most men would do well to stick with tailored trunks to avoid any potentially embarrassing situations caused by Viagra online purchases.
